28 £ millions for berbatov?

according to a report in guardian,
manchester united have agreed to sign bulgarian hitman, dimitar berbatov from tottenham hotspur for a fee believed in a region of 28£ millions. however, until it is confrmed in manchester united official website, for me it is just another rumour (^_^)

so who is dimitar berbatov? his name need not to be introduced anymore to every english premier league followers. together with fernando torres and wayne rooney, he is one of the most feared striker in english premier league.he is big and strong, can play as a target man, a position which manchester united do not yet filled since the departure of ruud van nistelrooy to los merengues. i myself regard himself higher than van nistelrooy.

however i think the
28£ millions transfer fee is too much for a 27 year old player, although his track record is already proven.why don't sir alex ferguson go for cheaper alternative such as huntelaar or falcao? maybe sir alex fergson wants a player who has already adapted to physical demanding english football.that is normal nowadays : when a big club such as manchester united or chelsea make inquiries about certain player from smaller clubs, the value of the player will rise significantly. however if berbatov can perform as good as michael carrick (man united bought carrick also from spurs for 18£ millions),it will be a very good bargain.
